Welcome to the Firestone Robotics website! We are a group of individuals with a similar mindset; think, create, destroy, and repeat.
We compete in VEX Robotics tournaments all across the state every year and work our hardest to create not only decent robots but also knowledgeable students and leaders of the future.
The club is lead by the club president, Jared Borodkin, and our advisor Dan Spak, as well as the hundreds of helpful parents and volunteers.
We can't wait to compete during this 2018 - 2019 season and hope to see everyone at worlds this year!
turning point...
Teams 7316E and 7316D defeat teams 7316B and 7882A in the quaterfinals of the Mahoning Valley VEX Qualifier on February 2, 2019
Most of the former LARgos were integrated into club just in time for Turning Point. In the 2018-2019 year, Firestone Robotics once again sent all six teams to States, and three of them to Worlds. Club as a whole won more awards during this season than in any previous season

Team 7316E performed extremely well throughout the season, despite the fact that they did not qualify for States until their last competition. They won awards at most of their competitions, but Tournament Semifinalists at States was their best award! Sadly, they had to eliminate team 7316A to do so, but got an invitation to Worlds in the process

At states, they won the Innovate Award to send them to Worlds for the second-consecutive year! It was also the third trip for Rachel Wasik, who currently holds the school record for Worlds trips!

7316T, previously 7316C, started with a few rough competitions early, began to get it together at the Akron VEX Qualifier. At the Milford Invitational, along with 7316E, they won Tournament Champions, as well as winning the Design Award, both of which sent team 7316T to States!
A season to remember
Each of the six teams had a hand in making the 2018-2019 season one of the best for Firestone
Teams 7316E and 7316T combined to win 4 awards at the Milford Invitational. They were: both of the Tournament Champions, Design (T), and Robot Skills (E)
As has been tradition, each Worlds team is honored by the Akron City Council on April 22, 2019
Even Coach Dan Spak got in on the action, winning Ohio's Robotics Coach of the year Award
*Team 7316E only used the name "Pink Bois" at the World Championship
