Farewell 2017 Graduates!
With every new year of Firestone Robotics, we always get caught up in the new games, new robots, and new club-goers. However, I would like to take a moment to thank all the following club graduates for helping us and wish them luck in their future careers.
Madisyn Hillyard was our club president from 2016 to 2017.
Madisyn's achievements include being a two-time state qualifier during the Nothing But Net game, as a part of 7316C, and the Starstruck game, as a part of 7316C once more.
Madisyn competed for three years, first in 7316B during Skyrise in 2014 to 2015. Her next game was Nothing But Net, where she competed from 2015 to 2016 in team 7316C. She returned to 7316C the following year for Starstruck from 2016 to 2017.
Kelsea Ray went on to attend the University of Akron after graduating where she is studying Polymer Engineering.
Kelsea achieved being a state qualifier for two out of the three years she was in robotics, both times in team 7316B, her first being from Nothing But Net, and her second being from Starstruck.
Kelsea was in robotics for three years, first starting in 7316B during Skyrise in 2014 to 2015. Her second game was Nothing But Net where she was in 7316B again from 2015 to 2016. Her last year was spent, yet again, in 7316B where she competed in Starstruck from 2016 to 2017.
Melissa Cardew currently attends the University of Akron. She was a club Secretary from 2016 to 2017.
Melissa's achievements include spending all four high school years in club and being a two time States competition go-er, both times for 7316B. For the first time, it was during Nothing But Net and the second time was for Starstruck.
Melissa was in Firestone Robotics for four years, in team 7316B for all of them. Her first game was 2013 to 2014's Toss Up. Her next game was 2014 to 2015's Skyrise. After that, she participated in 2015 to 2016's Nothing But Net. Her last game was 2016 to 2017's Starstruck.
Mike Skerlong is currently attending the University of Akron.
Mike's achievements include attending the States competition twice, one for Nothing But Net in team 7316D, and the second time, also for 7316D, for Starstruck.
Mike was in Firestone Robotics for three years. His first competition was Skyrise during 2014 to 2015 where he was in team 7316B. His next competition was Nothing But Net from 2015 to 2016 where he was in 7316D. His last game was Starstruck, where he was once again in 7316D from 2016 to 2017.
